RYA Motor Cruising Day Skipper Course
During the RYA Day Skipper Course you will take charge on short passages under instruction, with help and advice from your instructor.
This RYA Motor Boat course can also help you get the best from your modern electronic aids such as GPS and radar, which are now virtually standard equipment on modern motor cruisers. Before attending the course you should be able to navigate and are well advised to attend the RYA Day Skipper shorebased course to brush up on your skills.
Confidence in entering harbours and an emphasis on sound judgement and decisions are part of this RYA Motor Crusing courseThis is the most popular of the motor cruising courses.
The aim is to teach practical pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling up to the standard required to skipper a motor cruiser safely in familiar waters by day. The course also includes some night cruising experience, with emphasis on leaving/entering a harbour, considerations for keeping a look-out, and identifying marks by night.
Accomodation can be provided, for the 4 days, and all berthing fees, wet weather gear, lifejackets and provisions eaten on board are included in the cost.
Recognising that some of our clients prefer to sleep ashore rather than on board, we can provide an itinerary before booking the course, so that you can book into hotels/guest houses along the route.
