RYA Powerboat Level 2

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is also known as the National Powerboat Certificate. This Powerboat training course is one of our most popular  RYA course. The Powerboat Level 2 runs over 2 days and allows plenty of time for both practical & shorebased instruction. During the RYA Powerboat level 2  as part of your powerboat training you will be taught boat handling and seamanship in powerboats.

The RYA theory element of the Powerboat training Level 2 course will cover the types of craft and their respective advantages and disadvantages.,

During the Powerboat level 2 you will be assesed on your boat handling capability. This will involve undertaking manoeuvres learnt earlier in the powerboat training course. This test can be taken on its own without undertaking the Powerboat Level 2 course. This  Direct Assessment and can lead to powerboat level 2 certificate, being awarded.

 

Powerboat Training

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is the minimum qualification and amount of powerboat training required to charter a powerboat. The Powerboat Level 2 is also known as the National Powerboat Certificate. Once you have completed the RYA Powerboat Level 2 your level of powerboat training will enable you to apply to the RYA for an ICC (International Certificate of Competence. Equivalent to the Powerboat level 2 an ICC is  required in many European countries when using or chartering vessels. The Powerboat level 2 course is suitable for anyone with extensive boat handling experience and powerboat training and those who have no experience.
